FLYING LOW BY LUCAS CONDRO
This physical training principally focuses on the dancer’s relationship to the floor – the earth. Articulating the velocity of breath and the circulation of energy in it’s various forms: width, length, in back of, and in front of the body. Extending and amplifying perception, physical and spatial awareness, and alertness in movement.
Starting with the skeletal structure, developing muscular strength, and gaining joint flexibility, we are going to move and activate through the relationship that exists between our center and our extremities.
We will study how the body organizes itself during level changes, directional changes, and dis-placement of ourselves in space through a variety of movement phrases. Including the use of supports, rolls, jumps, accents, and suspensions we will work on how to enter and leave the vertical axis and go to the floor.
